  1. Though I like it, he never made her bimbo boobies bigger, and if anything, the picture makes them seem smaller than they were. Also, attempts to hand in to the librarian girl the notes info doesn't work, yet after the class, she acts like you gave it to her.

Though, would like to be able to 'control' more than just Val, including in form, like the hint of making her breasts bigger seems to hint towards.

    1. Her breasts do get larger. They aren't exaggeratedly large, but if you compare her normal self to her bimbo self, there is a fairly distinct change between them.

I had been told about some problems with Julia handling the note that I finished fixing yesterday, so I might already have fixed that problem. If you are still getting it, I'll give it another look to see what else might be wrong.

  2. the maze keeps sticking on the first floor. I can turn the music on and off but I cant exit the maze with enter or move the curser with wasd or arrow keys. it don't stick on the other floors of the maze.

    1. Sorry, that was an accidental side effect of a change I made recently to attempt to resolve conflicts between touching the staircase at the same time as a battle starts. Since the first floor has no battles, it caused a few problems. I have the fix uploaded now.

  3. I think there's too much of a delay between fights. I managed to get through several floors without seeing anything. That 10sec wait sounds like it should be a lot lower.

    1. I just shortened the length of delay. Hopefully it will work better now. Trying to find the perfect balance can be tricky.

    2. I think that the different floors of the dungeon should have more difficult encounters.
      floor 2 could be 50 to 100.
      floor 3 could be 150 to 200.
      floor 4 could be 250 to 300.
      floor 5 could be 350 to 400.
floor 6 could be 450 to 500....and so on.... It will let players level up quicker. And force them to wait until they are at a high level before visiting some floors.

    3. @andrew hopkins: Yeah, I am working on gradually tweeking the battle difficulty and experience reward. I started off with a fairly low difficulty so that I could raise the difficulty as I get feedback. I figured it would be safer that way compared to accidentally making combat too difficult and causing players to be unable to progress at a reasonable pace.

  4. Just started playing this game again (last time I played was when the alternate costumes were released), and noticed an error, in facts, while reading some lines: During the conversation with Sarah, it was said that white fire is 'hotter' then blue, but if you do your research, blue is actually more intense then white: a reference [ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_temperature ] -- notice how on the chart, blue has a higher temperature then white.

    1. Also, there is a bug that if you cast spells during choices, the conversation freezes.

      Delete
    2. Well, the characters don't know everything. Sarah wants to impress the player at that point since she's new in the party, so she's not likely to argue with him/her over minor details yet.

I'll try to look into fixing the freezing. I have a pretty good idea of what would cause it. Do you happen to remember which scenes the freezing happens in?

      Delete
    3. Like I said, during choices (pressing 1/2/etc scene). If you cast a spell during this time, the text changes correctly, but you can continue the dialogue by pressing [space/0]; haven't tried pressing [1/2], but doubt it works, since the text changed correctly, giving you no options.

      Delete
    4. Edit: but you can't continue the dialogue

      Delete
    5. Alright, I think I played most of it; so far found 2 notes, enslaved the three female students, as for spells

      MC: initial 2 + 3
      Val: Initial 2 + 4
      Sarah: Initial 2 + 2

I'm probably missing some spells, and I read you can attempt to enslave Ms. Rack, but have no clue how to unlock that, any hints?

      Delete
    6. I am getting close to finishing the new update so I made the changes to the new version to hopefully prevent dialogue from freezing up in that exact circumstance.

(spoiler alert past here for anyone reading)

There are three more spells I can think of off the top of my head, which are all spells learned by Julia if you decide to enslave her and make her join your party instead of accepting her offer. So, you probably are not missing any spells.

Ms. Rack's enslavement is one of the more complex scenes to reach. As for a hint, the only "Missable" tasks for enslaving her are that you will need to enslave Val, and accept Julia's offer instead of enslaving her. The rest of the things you will need to do can be done at any time.

      Delete
    7. Hmm, thanks for the hint.

Got the setting, had enslaved Val and accepted Julia's offer, but can't seem to open the door to Ms. Rack's enslavement, Not sure what I'm doing wrong / if I'm still missing something -- Gave Julia the 2nd note (When I asked her for intel, it always responds as slipping your mind.), had asked Val to show me her breast, on pretty much all 4 settings (though there was a choice for one, and I picked the 'nice' one, so that might be the problem.). -- Wonder if it gets locked again if you enslave Sara and talked to Jane.

Anyways, I'll probably try again next update, since I read there will be 3 save slots, instead of 1, like how it is now.

PS. Too bad you can't enslave Ms. Rack while enslaving Julia; probably because she'll notice Julia is under a spell, or that she'll become more wary of you, noticing your antics.

    8. Forgot to mention, I checked the party menu on my tablet, (it was a new game, and only just returned to the room), and for some reason Val's stats were weird; the most notable ones were that her HP (one had 100, other had 85) and Power (6 / 3) were different, depending on which portrait you clicked (Top or bottom)

      Delete
    9. You haven't done anything wrong from your description. From the sound of it, you have not yet triggered the first scene of the plot. Have you talked to Ms. Rack recently?

The stats change like that because when you click on the bottom you place her in a party slot and thus deselect her. When nobody is selected it displays Dan/Rosa's stats, and when someone is selected it shows their stats.

      Delete
    10. Can't find Ms. Rack to talk to, since she doesn't appear anywhere I visit, so no. The last time she appeared, was before Julia, for the first secret class. After that I haven't seen her portrait anywhere.

      Delete
    11. Did you happen to reach the second note without encountering many battles in this play through? The first scene in the plot line becomes available in Ms. Rack's room when Val reaches LVL 4, which normally shouldn't be too hard to reach naturally by the time you reach the second note.

      Delete
    12. Yeah, that's probably the reason, was running from most combat, since they were tedious. Was able to get the two, for both Dan and Val, learn-able spells in the Demoman fight, so didn't bother fighting afterwards.

      Delete
    13. I am working on making combat less tedious. It is a fairly gradual process, though, since making too many changes at once could accidentally overshoot and make the battles too difficult or too easy.

      Delete
    14. Hmm, problems I noticed so far are:

      1. The duration on spells are pretty much all over the place, especially for the only buff, keeps ending way too soon. -- Imo, it should last longer, something like base/initial duration + duration of the converted effect.
      2. There can only be one debuffs/status effects at a time, making it pretty obsolete. (Sauna is also the only DT spell you have access to.)
      3. The only enemy with any real weakness is that tentacle thing, so you're waiting for your party to clobber the enemies.

Hmm, wonder if MC/another character can learn spells from the monsters, or there can be generalized spells, instead of everyone having specialized ones based on their gift,

      Delete
    15. 1: The length of buffs is actually based on your defense stat. The higher your defense is, the longer you can keep a buff from wearing off. If you have a base of 0 defense, every half second you have a 50/50 chance of losing your buff. So, the duration of buffs should fix it's self after leveling up a few times, since your party members will get a higher defense stat as they level up.

2: My idea to having only one buff and one debuff is to make you think strategically about which buffs/debuffs to use in any given situation. It's probably not really effective at the moment since there is a limited library of spells and only a few different monsters, but in later floors monsters will start to have innate resistances to certain status affects there will be more effects to choose from.

3: I am trying to work on HP/Defense combinations to make monsters take a more reasonable amount of time to kill. I will probably be reducing HP of monsters again.

4: There will be some spells that can be learned by multiple characters or by both monsters and characters. The majority of spells for each character will be fairly unique to them compared to other party members though. I'm not sure how I would program learning spells from monsters though so if it is done, it would probably be done by a character that joins much later on.

      Delete
    16. There are some ways, I can think of, to learning monster spells:

      1. Actually getting hit by them (blue mage in FF)[Gift]

      2. Studying the monsters, similar to what Julia does maybe. (Could be a spell or a gift, where the more times you encounter them / defeat them / the monsters cast, or you cast a spell, the more chances of learning spells.)[Gift/Spell]

3a. A spell, giving you access to the monster's ability for the duration of the battle/until monster dies (similar to FF beast tamers, or think necromancers)*[Spell]
3b. 'Taming' the monster, (kinda like the eroge Men at Work, or w/e it was called, forgot the name), where you cast a spell until the monster becomes tamed, pretty defeated in battle and unlocks that monster in your skills screen. Later on you can just 'call' on the monster to use one of it's skills / it's defining feature. Pretty much a summoner.[Spell]

Hmm, had another one, I think, but forgot it, oh well, will come back eventually, or not at all..

Anyways, while talking about this, I started thinking the MC could be able to do it (3a), since his gift is control.

      Delete
    17. I actually meant that I wasn't sure how to do it from a coding perspective, not from a mechanics perspective. xD

      Delete
    18. Hmmm, I don't know how to code, or anything about it really, but here's my take:

      1. If enemy spell [name] targets you + works/you survive = learn

      2. Depends here:
      A. If gift, encounter/defeat ## [mob type] -- Would probably need to give the character a 'counter', like with the spells.
      B. If spell; Cast spell > chance of success > if succeed learn [spell], and different spells have different learning chances -- This one may be easier to do, since it'll just check for success, and if it did, that character would learn the spell.

3a. This one may be tricky, depending on how you want it done.
      A. The simpler way is, you cast the spell on the creature/corpse > it opens the monster's skill list > you select which spell to use and it's target, like normal. Counts as you and monster casting, maybe
      B. The tricky one is mainly for beast tamer, due to how the monsters have their own turn. It'll be similar to confusion, status effect > when it's monster's turn you're able to select the skill and who to cast it. (Oh that was the other thing I was going to suggest, puppeteering.) Or you could just make it a spell to change argo of the group/monster to something else, but won't the monster can't attack itself.

3b. Similar to 2B, where you have a spell, with a chance of success, chance could be dependent on a variety of factors such as: how much HP monster has, level difference, etc. When you succeed, it counts as the monster dies, and after the battle, you unlock a spell, depending on what monster you 'contracted with'. Ex. Selecting Baby Slime = Poison, Tentacles = Wrap, Breast-thing = healing(?), etc

    19. Unfortunately, pseudocode is a lot easier to write than actual code. As, there is often no "Do a thing" command for the exact thing you want to do, any singular task that can be described in one line could end up taking 10+ lines of code to write.

Not saying I think it's impossible or anything; it's just more complex than I am able to try without risk of breaking a lot of stuff right now.

    2. On that topic, the notes for the secret classes have the same problem (with the same solution).
Odd bugs: My characters froze during combat (no status effects) so I died. The game auto loaded my saved game (nice feature, I'd never noticed before) from the previous version (4 saves slots... just one you can't change).
Looks good. Trying the heroic path (which is against my nature).
      U.H.

      Delete
    3. Yeah, I am still trying different ways of fixing the problem. The problem is, there are two different codes running at once and in spite of my giving one priority, the other still tries to run regardless.

Were you fighting a Tentacle Grape? The Tentacle Grape can use Grapple, which stops your timer from going town temporarily, but since it is physical rather than a status ailment it doesn't take up an ailment slot. (The same goes for if you grapple an enemy monster)

I forgot to edit the recovery from game overs to match the new save system. I have a fix uploaded now for that.

After Jane mentions vulnerability (Val's mind), Jane and Sarah's text overlap.
(unreadable)ic on her. She will not be able to resist your power, even if she was stronger than you before.

    6. Yeah, I just uploaded a change so that being held by grapple does count as an ailment; it's confused a lot of people, so I figure the clarity might be more beneficial than the accuracy.

Val scene after the mental dungeon, Clicking on Tiff's portrait gave the empty bubble with no way to progress. Affects boost and confuse.
Sarah's attack's can not be used on Demo Man (can't click on it, only characters. Only her healing spell affect it.
New bug. If you use suppression on Val in that scene the empty bubble appears at the end (wasn't like that before).
Dr. Tiff picture shows up in first scene before Demo Man. When Dan/Rosa mentions first encounter.

    7. I have the problem with Tiff appearing re-fixed. Not sure what is making Val have problems for you though. It appears to be working when I tested it. I made another change to maybe make it work easier. Maybe see if it works for you now?

  8. How do you export saves? I can't seem to find a way to.

Also, is Val suppose to be un-enslave-able if you didn't enslave her during the tutorial? Her portrait doesn't appear like last version, if you chose not to enslave her. (I was going to save before enslaving her so I can try out the Heroic Path.)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You can't export saves. The import button is for if you had a save file before I changed the save system to accommodate 3 save slots. If you press it, it loads your safe the old way, then saves it into slot one.

Val is easiest to enslave during the opening scene, though there are two other opportunities to enslave her later. They are just more difficult to pull off. (and one of the two leads to her leaving the party if you fail. Though, you can still do the heroic plot line if you try to enslave her and fail.)

      Delete
    2. Yeah, I know. What I'm talking about was that, last version, if you didn't enslave Val, she shows up in the school building afterwards, which you can try to enslave her (Failing leads to her getting angry at you.), but this version, her portrait was gone. So was wondering if you changed it, or if it was a bug.

      Delete
    3. Something about the if statement chain made it stop working, apparently. I made some more changes, and I believe it should be working again now. Incidentally, I also just modified EXP gains and EXP Requirements to allow the party grow stronger faster and hopefully make combat less tedious.

  11. Played this on Newgrounds. Gotta-say, i can't comprehend the thought process that goes behind releasing an un-finished product WITHOUT an ending.

I understand a demo-version ect, But having me spend an hour of my time searching every square inch of every dungeon level because one of the characters are promising me boobs in exchange for a third note really pisses me off.

Searched every room, did everything i could do and couldn't figure out what to do next.
Next time, create an achievment function that pops up end-game completions such as getting the ladies naked. Once you've hit as far as you can go, have an ending screen with a replay from beggining function so you can unlock girls you've missed.

I'm all about donating to un-finished games i like, But wasting my time having me chase a twinky on a stick deserves a facial cock slap, not my cash.

    1. I did write a list of the major features in the game's description, specifically to let you know when you have done everything there is available to do. In that list, it does say that there are so far only two notes.

If you want to see Julia's breasts though, you can enslave her during your first conversation with her instead of taking her deal then you can order her to show them you.

  12. Heya! First off, love your game. I'm a hypnotist, myself, and I love the sort of erotic media - whether they be games or videos or any thing such -, and so I have come to very much enjoy this game, here. However, I seem to have run into a problem. I keep seeing from your updates how you have added some new things to the game, such as '9 new scenes ___ scenario', along with '1 more new note' and such.

However, as much as I play this game, I can't seem to find any of these things that you mention. Nothing. Nada.

Furthermore, to make matters even worse, I can't even see or interact with Julia, the girl who is supposed to be in the library. Neither head nor tail can be seen of her, and so I have come here to ask, where is she? Right after the game begins and I enslave Val, I return back to my bedroom, save, then head-on straight to the school. I go to the library and see nothing. No one's there.

Thank you for any help whatsoever!

    1. Thanks, and I'm sorry you have been having difficulty triggering the plots you want to see. I can give you some advice. Spoiler alert past this point for anyone reading who doesn't want to see it.

Julia can be found in the library after you have found the first note. It should be on the third floor of the dungeon, in the back of the small room in the middle. The second note is on the fifth floor, in the top left room. Once you have either helped, or enslaved Julia you can get access to the topless scenes for anyone you have put under your control.

Not all of the plots can be accessed in a single save, since some of your actions can cut you off from participating in certain events. To play the Heroic Path, you will need to avoid enslaving anyone. After you've reached the fourth floor, the first scene of the plot line should become available in the school hallway. To enslave Ms. Rack, you will need to enslave Val, and accept Julia's offer instead of enslaving her. Once Val has reached lvl 4 you should be able to trigger the first scene of that plot line by talking to Ms. Rack in her classroom.

      Delete
    2. Maybe you should read the dialogue next time. It was hinted at, by Val, that you should attend some of the classes.

There are certain events leading you to your goals, you can't really unlock everything at once.

      Delete
  13. Is there supposed to be any more scenes once we've enslaved Ms. Rack and made her show her breast ? I did the same for Val but I can't do nothing else. I did changed Val form to bimbo and Goth and I found both notes. Just now, I can't do nothing more than exploring the dungeon with Sarah in my party.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Having Ms. Rack enslaved and making her show her breasts is the furthest you can get on that plot line. At that point, you have probably missed your chances for enslaving Sarah if you haven't already enslaved her.

Some things you can probably do on another play-through though are the Heroic Plotline (which requires enslaving nobody), Enslaving Sarah (you have three opportunities to do so, though the first time she talks to you alone is the easiest), and Enslaving Julia (which requires you to cast the right spells on her during your first talk with her)

      Delete
    2. "At that point, you have probably missed your chances for enslaving Sarah if you haven't already enslaved her." Shit I missed her because I was trying to get Cassandra in her cow form, now I am struck with everyone except Sarah and I don't know how to get stone skin either.

      Delete
    3. You learn the stone skin spell by attending the support magic class, then casting your first support spell a few times in combat.

      Delete
  14. Can you only learn Charm/Conversion on the Heroic Path? I never saw either in my Student/Faculty path playthroughs, and even in Hero I hadn't learned Charm by the time I went to cure Val...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. None of the spells are bound to the main plot. You can learn new spells by casting spells of the same school that you want to learn a new spell in, or by gaining proficiency through attending the secret classes.

      Delete
    2. Nevermind, I eventually got it - it just took some grinding. On another note, will there be more options to use Charm outside of battle? I wasn't able to use it against Julia or Jane in the Hero path, and haven't tried it in the Faculty path yet...

      Delete
    3. Yeah, there will be more uses for it outside of battle. It's one of the newest spells I've added, so I still need to work on retro-actively adding it to some scenes that it could be useful in.

      Delete
    4. Seems like having love interests without mind control might be tricky to implement... Lots of logic problems to deal with, like which love interests are okay with poly, and which aren't, and what order you can get them in. Plus, if there are multiple mental states a character can be in, that's a bit trickier - who's in love with you, and who's a slave, and does one care about the other? If a player wants Val as your eternal pure waifu, with a sex-pet Julia on the side, there's likely gonna be logic conflicts... Unless there's something like a "love doctor" route, and if you're currently in a slave route, charming sort of defaults to working like suppression? MC is MC, after all.

Well, you probably have a personal plan for how Charm will work. I'm just tossing ideas around. And while I'm doing that, I have a couple notes.

First, is there a way to toggle auto-fight for slaves? At the moment, that's the biggest problem in the slave routes for me - combat is just so much less of a hassle in the hero route since I don't really need to think about it, and combat is pretty easy as-is.

Second, maybe consider putting plot-gates on dungeon levels? I spent like 10 minutes grinding out a single permafrozen baby slime because I was too dumb to realize it was invincible, and being able to grab note #2 before leaving the dungeon with note #1 seems kind of broken. :P

Which leads me into point 3 - it's kind of unclear in Julia's dialogue that note #1 doesn't count - I spent a while trying to figure out how to get her to acknowledge the first secret class appointment that I had found it before I tried bringing her note #2, and even then I was convinced that I screwed up the order and missed out on my credit for note #1, because there's no way my character would have asked for intel on Ms. Rack before intel on Mr. he-will-destroy-you-if-he-finds-out Drape, right? :P

Point 4 - in the hero path, Jane seems to imply that it's common knowledge that there's no monsters on the first level, but in the intro, Val also seems to imply that it's common knowledge that when you touch the seal it lets monsters out. I'm assuming that Mr. Drape put that idea in her head so he could plant the ZeekyBoogyDoog, but the fact that I went through 3 routes before I found out something was off that another character acted like I was an idiot for not knowing kinda bugs me. Maybe add a little foreshadowing to her dialogue there?

That's about it for now - I've really been enjoying this game! I've done about 4 or 5 playthroughs so far, and I've had a lot of fun. It's really well put together, and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes!

    5. For love, I have a couple conditions that I am working on keeping track of to keep it straight. Each character, by default, has an actual personality that impacts their opinions of you beyond something as simple as "be nice and get affection, be mean and lose affection". For example, Sarah actually gets uncomfortable when she is treated as being vulnerable, so if you choose to stand up for her at certain times, it will actually make her affection towards you go down.

The Charm spell works differently from suppression, as a character who is under the influence of the Charm spell can't be commanded like a Slave can. Instead, they will fall strongly enough in love with you that you can date them in spite of doing things that would normally reduce their affection towards you, or you already having more lovers than they would be comfortable with.

There will be a way to toggle automatic and manual commands later. I have had that recommended a few times, so I am looking into working out a good way to implement it.

Notes being miss-able is actually deliberate. It is a challenge in the school for you to find them all, so they would not give away the location of notes by locking down deeper parts of the dungeon until you find them. If you leave Julia free, however, she will be able to tell you what floor the earliest possible note you have not yet obtained is on. Not sure what happened with the baby slime. It must have been a freak timing problem that caused it not to count it's self as dead when it was supposed to.

I will try to make it more clear that Julia is not interested in the first note. As for her intel, she will give you intel on characters based on both how many notes you have brought her so far, and who's enslavement plot requires her intel to continue. I am still refining the intel system though to hopefully allow you to choose who you want to get intel on, but at the moment having it be conversation based is the most functional way so far.

That contradiction is actually a hint. Something to consider; the sigil is right at the entrance to the second floor, but the monster you encounter beyond the sigil cannot be found on that or any other floor.

I'm glad to hear you are enjoying the game so far. I am hoping to keep improving it as I go.

  18. The battles here have been becoming too easy for this game. The characters keep on leveling up easily, the poison isn't working ton the enemies, and the physical magic is being overpowered. Is there a way you can balance out the magics and give the battles some more difficulty?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I have made a few changes to the combat formulas in the live version to test out, which should hopefully make the game a bit more challenging in the next release. Amongst those changes was a change to the defense formula which will make non-physical spells begin to do more damage to compare better against Physical ones. So, hopefully Physical magic won't be quite so overpowered.

    1. Unfortunately, I don't know any way to make the game import a save from a version of the game named differently or from a different location. The dev kit I use to program the game is flexible in most regards, but handling save files is so un-supported that even just adding multiple save slots required installing a third party plugin. The import save feature is there for people who had started playing before I implemented multiple save slots.

  20. Guys I need help. For some reason I can't do anything further. i don't know where to meet Cassandra, I don't know how to get more privacy away from the library, I haven't been able to do anything after finding the third page. Is it some sort of bug or is it because the content is not yet there? I'm stuck.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You can meet Cassandra two ways at the moment. You can meet her by enslaving Julia, and giving her the fanatic personality (the one with the spiral glasses). There will be a conversation opportunity with her in the hallway of the school where she brags to Cassandra's fans about you. If you agree with her, Cassandra will appear in the hall to talk to.

The other way is by not enslaving Sarah and speaking to her whenever there is an opportunity to. A scene with her in Mr. Drape's room will occur eventually where Cassandra antagonizes her. If you stand up for her, Cassandra will appear in the hallway.

Currently, the library is the only place with nudity, aside from Ms. Rack's enslavement scene in the bedroom. I am planning to include more scenes as I finish making art for them though.

      Delete
    2. Thank you. However, I am unable to enslave Julia. The time i tried it she caught me (and she's now scared), but I didn't successfully enslave her. Secondly, is the only nudity scene on asking them to show you their breasts?

      Delete
    3. In order to enslave Julia, you need to confuse her first, then use suppression. And yeah, the only nudity scenes are the ones where they show you their breasts at the moment, except for Ms. Rack who gets completely naked during her initial enslavement. There will be more in future updates, but I have not finished the art for them yet.

  21. I honestly didn't expect from much from this going in, but I ended up enjoying myself. I really liked the way the magic system interacted with regular conversation. Especially that there were still options to magically manipulate / influence conversation even when you weren't on the complete bastard enslave em all route. I hope there will be more opportunities for that, as having "hidden" dialog options was rather interesting.

I find the enslavement route comes across a little less interesting, as enslaved npcs don't get the same events where they approach you for dialog in the halls and such. And there aren't really many dialog options in the library or your room at all to make up for this. Unless you're opting to make all your slaves mindless, it seems kind of weird not to talk with them. You left (or gave) them personalities to interact with for a reason, right? (If the focus here is mind control, it really seems like we'd want to hear more of how the mind controlled are experiencing / reacting to it. Seems like you'd get the most interesting character development there. I understand any slave-side character development / events would be harder since you have to cover variants for all the different personality types, but I still wish there was more opportunity to chat).

I really wish there was a menu of some kind to open when wandering around. So you could check your spells, level, who's in your party / enslaved easily. (I bounced between a few saves trying things out, and suddenly found it very hard to keep them strait).

It would be nice if the 123 buttons worked with save loading. It was weirdly unintuitive they didn't. And it would also be convenient if there were keybindings for combat and travel so one could opt to play without a mouse.

Some choices could really use a cancel option, too. Like, if you opt to change a personality, and then decide you'd rather not when you see the choices.

There really needs to be a soft load button. I don't know if I was just too dense to find it, but in order to reload a save I had restart the flash and/or f5 the page to get back to the menu screen.

Interaction with Julia on the goodie-two-shoes route is kind of weird, as there's no way not to approach her deal except as a manipulator who needs dirt on people and expects sexual favors from her. It feels like the terms of the deal should / could be different on the heroic route.

On the hero route, Val never rejoins your party (in battle) after you break her curse. Cassandra never appears in your party (in battle) at all, that I could find.

Conditions for triggering Cassandra seem to favor the extremes in routes. If you go pure hero you're fine, because Sarah will get bullied eventually. If you go pure evil enslave and reprogram people on a whim, you're fine, because Julia will get her. But if you go lawful evil / well intentioned extremist taking slaves but letting them keep their minds, you're going to miss both triggers.

That new spells could be unlocked by spell usage was neat, although I sure didn't catch that was what was happening on my first play-though.

    1. Thanks for the detailed feedback. A lot of features you mentioned only aren't present due to my not having time to implement them yet. I do have plans to make a pause menu for inside the dungeon, keyboard controls for combat, and a way to restart the game from the pause menu for sure. I probably will add a way to cancel personality changes when I can as well.

I am planning on having more scenes where you can talk to your slaves. There are a couple scenes where you can talk to Julia after she has been enslaved so far, and several random scenes where your slaves talk amongst themselves.

In order for Val to rejoin you in battle on the heroic route, you need to return to your room and add her back to your party. The reason she is not added directly back to your party is to avoid messing up your party if you already had a full party at the time. I will try to look into why Cassandra isn't showing up though.

You "can't" really interact with Julia as a good guy, since she doesn't trust you. Because she knows what your gift is, the only interaction she wants with you at first is related to her proposition since she doesn't want to spend more time around your character than she has to.

There will be more opportunities to trigger Cassandra's appearance in future updates. I wanted to make sure for now she was at least able to be met on the heroic and enslavement paths. Some of the other ways you will be able to meet her later will be available on hybrid paths.

Anyways, thanks again for the feedback. Detailed feedback is always useful for helping me figure out what to work on next.

      Delete
    2. That's fair, I figured a lot of the missing niceties were more due to where you were in the dev process than deliberate omissions.

The random slave-talk scenes are actually kind of hard to trigger. The activation odds are low enough that even after checking the walkthrough to make sure I had the right conditions, a lot of running in and out of the bedroom / clicking on faces and backing out is needed.

If there's supposed to be a means to add or remove active party members in the bedroom, I'm not seeing it.

      Delete
    3. Yeah, I sort of have to balance being able to see the scenes easily with not being annoying for players who just want to go to the room for party management. I might come up with a way though to 'wait' in the room to trigger another roll for a scene to occur for the sake of people trying to see all the scenes.

To open the party menu, you need to press Enter while in the bedroom. I'm fairly sure it is mentioned in one of the early scenes, but it's possible to forget about it by the time you have a third party member. I think it'll be easier to remember though once I have the pause menu implemented since it will use the same button.

      Delete
    4. Oh, enter does work! And that makes Cassandra usable too. I guess it just never auto puts her in the party.

Val has one window of dialog at the end of scene where she explains the save crystal that always flashed by too quick for me to read, maybe party swapping was mentioned there?

  22. Replies
    1. Yeah, the method for enslaving her is a bit more difficult to figure out than the others. You need to cast boost on her during the duel until the effects add up to allow you to transform her. Then when she demands to be changed back, agree but use Suppression on her instead.

  23. After going hero route and saving Val I cannot get her back into my party. Did I mess something up?

    1. You need to talk to Dr. Tiff to get her clear to allow Val out of her "care", then go back to your room and add her to your party with the party menu (press Enter to open the party menu)

  24. There is an error in one of the cutscenes. During the cutscene where Val tells you about the time crystal, there is a last part where Val tells me something about hitting Enter, but ends the cutscene before telling me. Also, the cutscene where fanatic Julie flashes her breast cuts to the boob flashing while my protagonist commands Julie to show her breast.

  37. So, I have tried a number of different ways to finish the Heroes path, then enslave everyone afterwards, but what I have found is that unless you enslave Val during the Heroes Path, you will not get another chance, and once you have entered the path, you never get another opportunity to enslave Ms. Rack. The other girls are simple enough. You can enslave Julia at pretty much any point and you can get Sarah through the doll path, but Val and Rack are closed off after that time. Perhaps in a later version?

As far as corruption goes, I like the idea but it doesn't fit with the established way that the suppression spell works. It might be do-able though on the tempted hero route with it's non-enslavement personality changes.

It would definitely help if I had someone helping with artwork, as that is my weakest area. So far though, I have not been able to find someone to work with. Abjectus made a fair bit of monster art several months ago, but they had to go on an extended hiatus due to work and no other artist who has offered to help has had the time to actually draw anything.

  48. I've seen some (literal) gamebreaking bugs (which is sad, as the game is awesome!)
The worst one involves getting to floor 10+ and meeting the new enemy (the tree-thingy; I forgot the name).
I fought that+1 Skull Slime and all of a sudden, it said "Val devoured the other monster". Of course I went "What the...?" and noticed that a new monster (Mandragora) had appeared. Literally out of nowhere.
The timers didn't go down so I couldn't do anything and the enemy didn't act - the game literally froze.
At first, I thought it was a one-time occurence so I tried to beat the Skull Slime. Suddenly, it said "Skull Slime has devoured the other monster!"... And hello Mandragora. Which, again, caused the game to freeze.

Also, there's a (minor) problem with the floors: F1-F10 are all labeled correctly, but for some reason, F11 is called F10 as well. I've examined the entire place 3 times thinking that F10 was just 2-parted, but I couldn't find an exit. So I'll assume it was a typo or something.

I hope this can be fixed because I find the game to be awesome!

    2. It's fine, though annoying.
Also, I found another (weird) bug.
I went into a battle with Dan, Valeria and Sarah. Both girls were my slaves and I fought 2 Skull Slimes. I tried to escape and Sarah was killed. I used Boost on her and Dan was killed, then Sarah. Then, for some reason, the enemies kept attacking Sarah. Who had 0 HP left. Val, meanwhile, was completly ignored.
Sadly, I forgot what floor - around 8 I think.

      Delete
    3. Ah, that happens on rare occasions. I had thought I fixed it and hadn't heard any reports of it happening in a while. Basically, for some reason occasionally the code to reduce a character's aggro to 0 when they are unconscious just doesn't run. I'll have a fix uploading in a few minutes with some redundant checks to make sure it works right.

  49. So after transforming Cassandra and refusing to turn her back the first time in the hallway, no additional Cassandra scenes seem to trigger. What am I doing wrong?

  50. 3 things noticed for at least this version and previous one:
While in combat the Act values can often get ridiculous, especially when on levels where the monsters run away. Main character will get a value that keeps going more and more negative, and others in party get values with lots after the decimal point like 26.0853274738356582654 that overwrites other parts of the screen. Please truncate that display to an integer.
Second is apparently getting a choice in your room to toggle between 2 images of yourself by clicking on icon in upper left corner. While it does change the larger image when you talk to others, neither is the female image on the Characters page and I did choose female and everybody calls me Rosa.
Third is getting an icon during combat using Ashley that looks like a white box with red X that can't be selected, just below Grapple.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The calculation for delay already truncates. I'm not sure why it would start creating decimals randomly. I'll add a redundant check to try and see if that helps.

The character models in the character page are out of date, sorry. I redrew the main character's male and female models a few months ago and must have forgotten to update the images in the character page to match.

The spell icon with the red X is Ashley's berserk spell that lead to her going feral. For now, the spell cannot be cast due to the risk of her going feral again.

No clue why, I've tried using every spell she has countless times.

    1. Casting spells gives you proficiency in the school of magic the spell belongs to. To teach a party member a spell from a school they don't know any spells in yet, you need to bring them with you to one of the matching secret classes.

  55. Absolutely adore the new models! Val in particular looks amazing. Suggestion for the future: make sending Cassandra an ink bomb also trigger the meeting.

    1. Thanks. I have been working with an artist to get better artwork. Hopefully we will be able to get all the graphics updated so there won't be mixed graphics for too much longer.

The ink bomb idea does sound interesting, I'll have to see if I can make it work properly.

  57. If you exit the dungeon via any method other than the menu (such as by calming the berserker down), then later open the menu and choose the close the menu option, it puts you back into the dungeon.

    1. Sorry about that. I thought I had fixed that bug, but must have missed a spot. I'll have a redundant check in the hallway added in to prevent that from happening again. I'll have the fix uploading in a few minutes.

    1. You need to fail the check when asking her to make out with you in order to be able to charm her. If she suggests meeting you later, it means you passed the check.

  60. I'm enjoying how the game is turning out, right now. After many play throughs, the path I decided to take is the path of corruption. In this path, Dan is acting like a hero at first and uses his powers for the good. But as the game goes on, he slowly begins to use his powers for his own needs and begins going mad with it. So yeah. It's basically the Tempest Hero path. I'm hoping you will add more to my favorite paths. Like the Tempest Hero one and give out many ways to enslave the girls. Especially introducing some new girls to enslave. Keep up the great work!

    1. Thanks, yeah I am planning on having the tempted hero path be a viable path through the game. I do have plans to add more characters, and new enslavement sequences for existing characters as well.

  61. The Berserker character (Ashley) seems to only have 2 attacks which is pretty lack luster. I played threw the first time no funny business but there didn't seem to be much in the way of interactions that way. Played that second time threw and enslaved every one but val after she broke free which had some entertaining bits but the frequency of the special dialogues is much to low because I've only gotten 1 so far while meeting the requirements. The probability in general is a bit annoying to me. I went to the nurse what feels like dozens of times in a row with out prompting the monster at first level speech. I'd appreciate a way to cheat levels and such as going threw the dungeon got old fast especially on subsequent play throughs were i'm mostly trying to see all the dialogue options. On my second play through the male teacher never sprung his trap on me. I'm at level 11 of the dungeon and I've gotten all the scrolls to my knowledge but he hasn't made his move yet.

    1. Lack of content on any given path is more due to the game still being in development than any deliberate choice to limit your options. Eventually, all characters will have spell lists that fill up the spell menu, and there will be plenty of side-plots to participate in regardless of which main path you take through the story.

You don't actually have to see the scene in Dr. Tiff's room to start he berserker plot; you can also force it to start by encountering the berserker for yourself. Mostly, the scene in Dr. Tiff's room is meant to give the player some hint of the existence of the plot in the first place. You can see some variations on the plot depending on how you start the sequence as well.

I will include a new game+ to allow you to skip having to level up when I figure out a good way to do it. The way Stencyl seems to handle variables, trying to reset all the event flags while keeping character stats is difficult.

Activating Mr. Drape's trap requires more than simply running to the bottom of the dungeon; You need to reach at least the 10th floor, but you also need to have saved Sarah from Drape's control, and attended the second of Jane's private lessons.

    2. Looking forward to more content than. Still prefer probabilities tweaked or gotten rid of. The "Slave Chatter" is still proving pretty elusive even when using your guide. Getting the doctors speech to trigger so I could enslave Julia definatly slowed things, though nice to know I can confront Berserker with out having to see the scene.

I thought that'd be the case concerning Mr. Drape from reading the guide but wasn't sure.

Newgame+ would be awesome though if you do add it, i'd like it if you made it so you didn't have to beat the game to "restart".

  62. Where are the saves located for this? They seem to keep disappearing for me.

    ReplyDelete

    1. I honestly have no idea. Stencyl has saving as a hard coded feature rather than something I can program manually; to get multiple save slots I had to install a plugin for it which was written by another user.

If you are using Chrome, Chrome seems to have issues with stencyl's save files for some reason and doesn't seem to be able to find them.

    2. Since the saves are (probably) stored in people's cookies or cache or whatever, if they regularly clear those they'll disappear or if they play the game while in "incognito mode" the saves will disappear as soon as they close the tab/browser (since cookies and cache aren't saved in that mode). Aside from manually avoiding these things, the most convenient way around this would be to be to have the option to download than re upload your save. Or you could do what Pokkalah did.

    1. That part was more directed at Changer than you, but oh well. Pokkalah (which is a game, if you didn't know :P) Lets's people copy the code for their save and then save that somewhere on their computer. Then you can paste it in later to "load" the save. If it isn't possible to get the game to let people download the save, this is another way around it. The only problem is I don't know if Pokkalah uses the same programming language as this, so I' don't know if that's possible here. It's just a lot more convenient if you have a copy of your save outside the browser as a fail safe.

    2. There is an external save file somewhere; as that is how flash games usually save. As far as what Stencyl calls the file when saving or what folder it is in, I don't know.

    3. You should really figure that out dude, so you can have an answer to the question "what happened to my saves"? :P

    4. If I remember correctly, it's a .sol file, forgot how to access it though.
-- Pretty much, the reason why your save file disappears is tied with how browsers are clearing their histories [mainly cookies] now. (I remember a few years back, my saves stayed even when I cleared my history, then all of a sudden, after I updated my browser and cleared again, my saves were gone.)

  66. Not sure if this is a glitch or not, but in Ms. Rack's enslavement scene (you know, where you drug her and stuff), after you challenge her to a makeout fight with Val, the picture shows up, but it never scrolls up, only showing her legs. Additionally, the text box doesn't show up properly either. A strip of it appears at the bottom, but the rest doesn't, so the text just shows up over the picture.

    1. It is a glitch. I have a fix uploading now. That particular scene is hard to fix as I can't run the scene directly (it depends on another scene setting a variable) so if it still doesn't work let me know and I'll try something else to fix it.
